Traffic violators in Mumbai now can pay their traffic challan online using digital payment wallet Paytm. The most popular digital wallet company Paytm has partnered with Mumbai Traffic Police and Vijaywada traffic police for the cashless collection of traffic fines or E- challans.
If you have violated any traffic rule in Mumbai, Mumbai traffic police will issue E-challan against your vehicle registration number with help of high-quality images captured by CCTV installed in every corner of the city. Vehicle owners in Mumbai violating traffic rules will receive SMS by Mumbai Traffic Police notifying them about their traffic violation details with date, time and two photos displaying registration plate of the vehicle and the place where the violation takes place. After receiving the SMS, the vehicle owner can verify the details by visiting the URL received in the message and can choose to pay traffic fine online directly on Paytm app or Mumbai traffic police website/MTPapp.
How to pay traffic E-Challan payment online on Paytm:
If you have received SMS from Mumbai Traffic police about traffic challan on your mobile, shown below.
Go to Paytm app/website login with your account details and head over to Challan section from the main menu. Enter your City Name, Enter challan number received in SMS Or vehicle number.
Press proceed button, If there is traffic challan pending against your vehicle, you will get the option to pay the fine with your Paytm wallet or debit/credit cards. You will receive acknowledgment on your mobile/Email once you successfully paid the challan from the app. You can also pay the challan from Mumbai Traffic Police official website from here.
