From April 1, 2017, Public sector Bank State Bank Of India has decided to charge customers MAB charges, for failing to maintain a minimum balance for a quarter or a month. Other than SBI, some other Government Banks and Private Banks also charge customers for failing to maintain minimum amount balance in their saving account.

Revised MAB charges for 2017 of SBI, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, Canara Bank, PNB Bank, Bank Of India, Bank Of Baroda, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Union Bank, Federal Bank.

It has to noted that even though banks do charge certain amount for Non Maintenance Of Minimum Balance In Saving Bank Account, The Bank will not charge any penalty for customers having Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account (BSBDA).
