Indian internet service providers like Hathway, ACT Internet, Tikona Internet, Joister Broadband and Airtel is sending out messages to its customers about very slow internet speed and connectivity due to cyclone vardah in Chennai.
Customers of Hathway, Airtel received messages on their registered mobile no. about slow internet connectivity. Customers advised by ISPs that they might experience slow internet speed and connectivity, Airtel notified customers by sending SMS that reads,
“Due to the severe cyclone at Chennai coast yesterday, one of our international undersea cables has been damaged and internet traffic has been partially impacted. As a result, customers in some locations may be experiencing slow internet/data speeds. Our teams are working to normalize the operations at the earliest possible and making alternate arrangements to divert international internet traffic”
Hathway also sent out messages to its customers,
Dear Subscriber, you may face interruptions in internet connectivity as Google is experiencing network issues in India due to the Cyclone in Chennai. Resulting in restricted service in operation. The Cyclone has also affected repair work. While we continue to follow up with Google to get the situation under normalcy, we regret the inconvenience caused. Please call us at our Helpline for any assistance.
There is no information as of now that where the connectivity issues will get solved. But it might take at least a week to resolve the cable issues and restore the connectivity.
