Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, JIO, BSNL to deactivate SIM Cards not linked with Aadhaar by Feb 2018

As per new guidelines placed by Government of India, it is now mandatory to link your Aadhaar card to your mobile number. By Feb 2018 all telecom companies will start deactivating SIM cards which are not linked to Aadhaar card.

In recent time all mobile operators including Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, JIO, Aircel, BSNL sending out SMSs to their customers to re-verify their mobile with Aadhaar. Every prepaid and postpaid customer has to re-verify their SIM card with their Aadhaar number, by visiting the nearest store of that operator. The customer has to carry their Aadhaar card with them while visiting the mobile store, Where biometric verification will be done and Aadhaar number of the customer will be permanently linked to customers mobile number. There will be no charges applicable to re-verify the mobile number with Aadhar.

Those who do not re-verify their mobile number with Aadhaar, before Feb 2018 their mobile number will be disconnected by their mobile operator. It is not known as of now if the customer will be able to reactivate their SIM by re-verifying Aadhaar after Feb 2018.
